A group interview is a screening process where the interview is conducted with multiple candidates at the same time. The point of a group interview is to see how candidates choose to stand out from each other, the main motto of this kind of interview is to see how well candidates function in a group of people whom they do not know and if candidates show the teamwork attribute that the company is looking for.

How to Stand in A Group  Job  Interview

Here are some effective ways to stand out in a group job interview.

• Research and make yourself well prepared beforehand:

When you are going for a Group Interview keep in mind that you are going to face not only the interviewer, you also will come across few candidates those may are good in communication, some time knowledge or in some others aspects and can give you big challenge to face the same. So be prepare specially research in details about the company and the topics may ask in interview.

• Arrive 30 minutes before the time and try to observe the others and the situation:

As you are going face the interviewer along with the other candidates, so here your behavior or attitude must be well noticed by others and should not be like any ill behave. So just try to reach at least before 30 minutes from the scheduled time and try to observe others attitude, and if possible try to find their back grounds, experience etc.

• Prepare a nice self introduction:

Remember self introduction is very important in every job interview. In group interview it carries most of the impression as you are suppose to introduced yourself in front of  a group of people, and you may feel nervous. So it is very important that to prepare a nice introduction which should comprises your professional highlights, even your achievements, but keep this in mind it should not be so lengthy where people will get bored. Also be confident about this activity as your nervousness can spoil you r image. So prepare a nice self introduction for yourself for group interview.

• Listen very carefully each and everything; don’t allow your mind to divert you:

You need to be very alert while appearing group interview as any time any consequence can happen where you need to be answered or any group question can be ask which you need to give answer promptly. So listen very carefully each and everything; don’t allow your mind to divert you.

• Don’t answer always first, let the others speak; choose the right question to answer first:

Try to listen the question first don’t try to give answer promptly of every question in spite of knowing the answer. Let the others speak; as it creates a good impression to have a good team work quality, wait and choose the right question to answer first.

• Support some co- interviewee’s statements:

While appearing in Group Interview it is obvious to observe by the interviewer about your reaction to the co interviewees. In any general topics you must not always share your opposite thought with your co interviewees. Sometimes it noticed that if you disagree maximum time with your co interviewees it carries a negative impression as you are not supportive or dominating so be careful and support some co interviewee’s statement.

• Keep smile on your face and nod your head frequently to show your active participation:

It is been noticed that when we start communicate with any persons our first focus is on the person’s face, and if that face is flourishing with a sweet smile then the communication become more friendly and useful. A genuine smile always shows that you are approachable, trustworthy, and co operative, not only that it also shows that you are well being. Also in group interview try to nod your head frequently to shows that you are active in conversation and listening to others. So create a good impression among the co interviewee and to the interviewer with a smiling face.

• Ask brilliant questions:

In a group interview you must be very cautious about anything you ask to the interviewer. Remember sensible question always create a good impact on your image. May you mind will buzz with lots and lots of questions but only ask those which is sensible and brilliant which interviewer may love to answer.
