Now a days Fashion has become accessible to everyone, to be fashionable and to afford the latest trends you need not to be a part of the “upper class”. Thanks to the fast fashion as it takes about a two week life span before the next fashion craze hits the stores. Materials used to produce garments are specifically two fibres, 1. Cotton, 40% of our clothing made up with this natural fiber, which is extremely water- intensive, it also releases toxins into waterways and air due to the use of harmful pesticides during production.  2. Polyester, which is a synthetic fiber used to produce clothing, highly dependent on the diminishing oil and gas reserves. Now consumers are becoming more conscious of the fashion industry’s dangerous effects on the environment because of the unavoidable above stated facts. They are begun to invest in brands that are actively seeking sustainable alternatives like Fairtrade cotton, as a large percentage of Fairtrade cotton is also organic certified. And it encourages and empowers cotton farmers to protect the natural environment. Fairtrade encourages sustainable cotton production and is the only standard to provide economic benefits, and making use of dead stock. Now a days many of us really wonder what the future of sustainable fashion will look like and how it will be the only trends of future fashion.

The ability to become sustainable on future fashion, the textile industry is facing a wide range of threats from social, human rights, environmental and commercial governance factors. The trends are to move to ethically made garments by designers and entrepreneur. As the requirements to wear skin friendly garments getting higher to the consumers, so the megabrands now realises how important sustainable fashion to their consumers, so they are making it much easier for customers to shop ethically and to support environment friendly brands. In India Hemp, wool, organic cotton, soy silk, bamboo fabrics, jute, corn fiber etc., due to their availability from nature without any harmful effects of chemical or toxics. Recycled yarn, is also minimizes unnecessary wastage, and is a more sustainable alternative to disposal. Cotton recycling can be done from textile leftovers and older or earlier used garments. Recycled yarns are used for making carpet, clothes. Moreover, as compared to other synthetic fibers they are available in a cheaper rate. The exposure of endless number of sustainable brands are the example of the booming trends. Like H&M Conscious Collection, Adidas shoes made from ocean plastic with a 3D printed midsole, is an attempt to help to stop ocean plastic pollution. The garment industry is also redesigning the concepts of production and moving to the sustainable future. According to the research, the 10 countries most interested in sustainable fashion are: United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, Iceland, Australia, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Norway, Denmark and Canada. A post-pandemic consumer desire for ethically-produced clothing brands has produced a bundle of eco-conscious fashion labels in India. Thus India is taking its feet among the fast fashion boom. The country’s textile and apparel export have reached record heights in the year 2022. This showcase, from masses to classes all are trending to the hype of sustainable fashion for the future fashion.

So, the Sustainable Fashion is definitely going to be the Future Fashion.
